Do I need an ADA Accessibility Policy?
We strongly recommend that you put in place an ADA Accessibility policy. 20% of the world’s population has limited access to the internet due to disability, and these people are consumers of services like yours, too.

What is ADA Accessibility?
The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that protects people with disability from discrimination in public places, including online access.

What is an ADA Accessibility Policy?
An ADA Accessibility Policy provides on-screen assistance for people with a variety of disabilities to make your site easier to use, demonstrate your commitment to making your website ADA compliant, and help you avoid a lawsuit.

Can I be sued over an ADA Accessibility issue?
Yes, you can be sued if your website is not accessible by a disabled user. We’ve had clients receive lawsuit threat letters and have dealt with attorneys through long complicated legal challenges.

How can I comply with ADA Accessibility law?
The global Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WGAC) are a worldwide set of technical standards. It’s generally agreed that compliance with WCAG at the 2.1 level is a minimum goal to improve access for people with a variety of disabilities.

What’s the best practical solution to discourage a lawsuit?
The fact is that it’s nearly impossible to create a website that’s 100% accessible by anyone with any kind of disability. Achieving that would require tens of thousands of dollars of manual coding development time. For all practical purposes, a 100% solution is out of reach for any small business because absolute compliance would bankrupt them. The best alternative we’ve found is the overlay widget by AccessiBe. Here’s why:

  • AccessiBe is an industry leader in web accessibility and ADA compliance.
  • Their overlay widget provides good documentation of your site’s accessibility. Each month you will receive a report showing how your website scores on all WCAG 2.1 checkpoints.

Can RV Park Marketing Studio set up my ADA Accessibility solution?
Yes, we highly recommend that you do subscribe to our premium maintenance plan that includes AccessiBe’s services. All of our recommended policies are available as a single add-on, since we do have to pay for these services, set them up and and maintain them on an ongoing basis.
